Build Your Own Destiny!!!

I believe destiny can be defined as the concept that can continue to change with your own understanding of your own path or spiritual journey. Destiny can be defined in numerous ways which I think is a wonderful thing because the way I may view destiny can be complete different for someone else.

 As human beings we look to be the best versions of ourselves but sometimes we don't know what that mean or what it look like. Living in a world that wants insist gratification can become overwhelming; but that  doesn't mean quit. Sometimes the rode to building your own destiny can come with hurdles and setbacks which may cause some self doubt; but using that self doubt to fuel the fire to keep going and reach the destiny of your desire.

 Knowing that you are in charge of your own destiny and that you can create was really big for me because growing up it was always go to school, get a degree and get a good paying job to take care of my family. Well, let me tell you there is more to life than working a job just to make money. Over the years talking with my oldest daughter who have always been a major supporter in my life gave me a different outlook on life. I come from a generation it was the elders knew what they were talking about and that I should just do what they say. My daughter explained to me that just going to college is wonderful but how many people work in their field of study or use their degree. She stated that "in my generation their are different ways to make money and be your own boss to build your destiny and legacy."  I laughed because  I did learn was she was right, Covid taught us that we can create and build our own destiny to provide for our family.

 To build your own destiny leads to the ultimate goal of building a legacy, providing for your family and creating a name for yourself.

Reinventing yourself and determine what your destiny looks like for you. Being the best version of yourself should drive you to continue to keep going,  DO NOT quit. Show up for yourself, speak kind to yourself, fight until you get to the finish line.

My Childhood Trauma: How I Didn’t Let It Define Me

  If you have never experienced growing up in a domestic household then let be the one to tell you those memories haunt you into adulthood. Reaching the age of 40 I dig deeper into my inner child and when I say it’s a roller coaster of emotions. At a young age I heard lot going on in our household that my big sister and big brother (stepbrother) tried to protect me from. We lived in a household where there was domestic violence going; at that time I’m not sure what it was called but it scared the heck out of me because my mother was getting her ass beat. It would be arguing, yelling, glass throwing, my mama running screaming stop, walls being punched because my daddy (my stepfather) missed my mama face. I would be so scared that I would get in the bed with my sister and cry and she would cover my ears and rock me to sleep. LOOKING BACK :Through The Lens

 As I lay here 3 days before my hip replacement surgery, I will be 40 in 8 months and I begin to look back over my life I began to think things over (verse from my favorite song “I’ve Got A Testimony”). I have experience some tough obstacles that I can truly say I have overcame with therapy and the love of my supportive and loving wife Angie, children, family and friends. I became a teenage single mother at 15 years old and had to make the best life for my daughter while dealing with the death of  my grandfather whom passed literal  days after I gave birth to my oldest daughter and finding my Papa (my mama’s fiancé) OD in the back of his limo.
